چکیده

Abstract Aims Biogenic volatile organic compound (BVOC) research has been mostly focused on foliar emissions. In this experiment, the main focus was rhizosphere BVOC emissions of Scots pine seedlings under changing growth conditions. Methods Soil-growing pines were exposed to increased air (0.5°C) and soil (4.0°C) temperature N addition (30 kg ha ? 1 yr ) for three growing seasons in a field experiment. these factors, bark herbivory by large weevils two last seasons. Gas-chromatography mass-spectrometry used analyzing samples collected from rhizosphere. Results Almost 98 % BVOCs non-oxygenated monoterpenes (nMTs), oxygenated (oMTs), 0.5 sesquiterpenes (SQTs), other BVOCs. both years, there an interaction warming, 2015, warming single exposures decreased oMT emissions, while exposure 2016, three-way showed that effects mainly detected exposures. nMT, oMT, SQT emissions; Conclusions Warming The effect varied between years increase decrease. It seems altered conditions may reduce carbon investment

Characterization of a Lhcb5 cDNA from Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris).

Despite extensive studies on the LHC proteins of PSI and PSII (for review, see Jansson, 1994), the detailed polypeptide composition of LHC I and LHC I1 has not been understood until recently. The nature of the Lhcb5 gene product has been one of the major uncertainties, since it has been identified both as the CP26 (or the equivalent complex LHCIIc) polypeptide and one of two CP29 polypeptides (...

Identification and Quantification of Indole-3-methanol in Etiolated Seedlings of Scots Pine (Pinus sylvestris L.).

Combined gas chromatography-mass spectrometry has been used to identify indole-3-methanol in a purified buffer extract from etiolated seedlings of Pinus sylvestris L. Quantitative estimates obtained by high performance liquid chromatography with fluorescence detection, corrected for losses occurring during purification, indicated that etiolated seedlings of P. sylvestris contained 19.7 +/- 1.4 ...

Effects of phosphorus availability and genetic variation of leaf terpene content and emission rate in Pinus pinaster seedlings susceptible and resistant to the pine weevil, Hylobius abietis.

We studied the effects of phosphorus fertilisation on foliar terpene concentrations and foliar volatile terpene emission rates in six half-sib families of Pinus pinaster Ait. seedlings. Half of the seedlings were resistant to attack of the pine weevil Hylobius abietis L., a generalist phloem feeder, and the remaining seedlings were susceptible to this insect. We hypothesised that P stress could...
